Year of the White Tiger ~ Preparations for the New Year

by Mary Dillin-Shurtleff

Begin the Chinese New Year on February 14th by realizing your own power.  When intentions are good- good karma comes to you. If intentions are to harm- you harm yourself.

Man is most powerful because he is centered between heaven and earth.

Tien—Ren-Ti
Heaven-Man-Earth

Man can use the grounding and power of the earth for his home and physical body and he can call in all the powers of the heavens to help him achieve greatness. Remember what Yoda said to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars.

Luke: I can’t believe it.
Yoda: That is why you fail.

This year-Believe in what can be Possible

The White/Golden Tiger arrives on February 14th with an entrance fitting of the Tiger. For those wishing money and fortune, you may use the term-Gold Tiger. For those wishing feminine influence and energy, you may use the term White Tiger.

The Tiger is steely, independent, confident, stealth, quick, and powerful. The white or metal tiger will be sharp, courageous, determined, and prefers to work/hunt alone. These qualities can make 2010 a tumultuous year with rebellion emerging bringing with it -chaos and confusion. Things may turn on a dime with the quickness of the Tiger energy. The Tiger will roar and be heard.  Expect the unexpected this year.

The Metal Tiger can be a year of personal independence and freedom for many. However with independence and freedom comes responsibility and accountability.

This is a year of golden opportunity for money to be made. You can make empty money and still not feel complete. This is why people sometimes feel money is overrated, the root of evil, or greedy. When money is made with spiritual intent and and in an honest way the money will always flow to you. Pay attention to your marriage to money.   Always 'pay it forward' as well.

Before the New Year’s Eve pay off all debts and bills so you can start the year off with a clean slate. If you cannot pay the bills off, make sure all payments are current or one month in advance. This sets a pattern for the year. Get all financial dealings in order.

Clean off your desk and get rid of all old papers and junk from the previous year that you no longer need--old calendars, etc. Remove all unneeded programs or negative emails from your computer. Clean out the inbox, trash, and sent boxes. This will free your mind and workspace to think clearly.  Replace the red envelope over your office door.

Clean and De-clutter your home. Get rid of all things no longer needed. This includes any old food, clothing, prescriptions, outdated vitamins, etc. Pay attention especially to the storage and garage areas.  Donate to the local homeless shelters. The items can be used to help the homeless set up homes. It also initiates good karma for the year.

Cleaning the house preceding the New Year is important, as it clears old, stale energy and bad luck from the home. However, do not clean or sweep on New Year’s Day, as it sweeps all the luck away. After you clean, spray your house with a citrus spray or orange oil to cleanse. You may also clean with the orange oil. Open the doors and windows as you are cleaning to allow old dead chi to escape. Play music, chime, or make sure hardy sounds are resonating in the house to insure movement of air or chi.

*Note: If you cannot get the house fully cleaned, be sure to spray orange oil In those areas you have not cleaned yet. It will help to break up stale energy, and give you more energy to tackle the job.

Take care of your body. Make a commitment to eat better (part of the reason for throwing out old outdated food), start a walking/exercise program, and commit to getting the proper rest.  Exercise at least 3 days a week, 10 minutes a day, walking program. Increase it to 20 minutes, according to what feels good to you. Move the chi of the body. As you commit to this program, you will find you start to crave the movement, and lack of it will make you antsy. (Post hypnotic suggestion)

Clean out the wardrobe of all items, which are worn out, or no longer fit properly.  Get rid of all clothing, which no longer fits the personality of the person who you wish to be. Donate extra coats, boots, gloves, hats, and blankets to your local homeless shelter.

Get a haircut or restyle your hair to face the New Year. Get a makeover, facial, pedicure—anything, which says to the body—“I Love You and you are important.”

Have a great Tiger Year. It can be a year of Golden opportunities if manipulated correctly.
